Dopplereffekt - 'Calabi-Yau' album on way on www.rephlex.com records
New Dopplereffekt album on the way from long time supporters Rephlex Records. ‘Calabi-Yau Spaces’ is listed on their site to be released on LP and CD on 5th MARCH 2007. This will make it the first European release from Dopplereffekt not to appear on Gigolo Records but, on the face of the title alone, the only available info on it I have, it appears more than likely that it will be consistent in continuing its predecessors, 2003’s ‘Linear Accelerator’, scientific/theoretical physics theme.
This is huge news, I literally can't wait!

In all honesty, I hope it's more in line with early Dopplereffekt. Linear Accelerator is something I rarely listen to.

Mon, June 11, 2007 - 9:51 PMYup. I wouldn't file this in electro. It's definitely in ambient/experimental/soundtrack territory. I only heard beats in one track, and that one wasn't exactly something you could dance to. This sounds geared more for home listening, when you want to feel like you're trapped in a nightmare lab with a mad scientist twiddling knobs. Perhaps the dopplereffekt of old is no more. -

Tue, June 12, 2007 - 11:14 AMAh right, I've yet to hear any of it but I must say I'm disappointed........was really looking forward to Dopplereffekt moving their sound onwards and keeping that sharp electro beat in tact
*sigh*
I'll go check it out soon then, hopefully it won't bore me to sleep, fingers crossed.. -
